CANADA DAY IS JULY 1ST
its an extra long weekend here because the holiday
is on a tuesday so most people will have the monday off.so thats a 4 day weekend.
theres lots to do here in TORONTO this weekend.
as usual people will leave the big city and go to the cottage,and camping too no doubt. and the bbq's will be fired up and grilling a host of good eats.im making fresh local strawberry pancackes and CANADIAN back bacon just to start,then steaks,grilled veggies,hamburgers,saussages,and maybe somepork tenderloin as well.

well you should be in TORONTO RIGHT NOW!!
current temp at 11.25 am is 30 celsious and a humidex of 39 degrees!!
the conversion to fahrenheit is 102.2 DEGREES!!
we will probably get to 42 or 43 today
thats about 110 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT!!!
MY AIR CON IS KRANKED!!!! needless to say.

CAT DIARY

John Rutsey, a founding member of Toronto rock band Rush, passed away this weekend according to Rush management company Anthem Entertainment. He was 55.

Rutsey was famous for playing on Rush’s 1974 debut album, including the song “In The Mood,” before deciding to leave the group due to health concerns. Rutsey suffered from diabetes and was unable to go on extended tours with the group.

Rutsey was replaced by dummer Neil Peart, which marked a turning point in the band’s sound towards progressive rock.

Toto has not placed a single in the upper reaches of the Billboard chart in some time but the band remains a major concert draw, playing to packed houses wherever it goes.

That is particularly true of the European and Asian markets where Toto tours extensively.

It was, therefore, no surprise to see that the band chose to record its latest concert CD/DVD in France.
