True. I had a job installing karaoke machines in bars around town. What I saw was frightening. Watching drunken businessmen doing their version of "Moon River" has scared me for life.

I understand! But this is not a drunken man! He is very serious about it and really wants to know how you guys feel about him! Do you think he's got talent or not?
Because he reads these messages as well and some things could be hurtfull.
I mean i understood this joke:

I certainly don't intend to insult anyone, but karaoke really freaks me out. If I hear it I run really fast in the other direction. To me it's like going to a concert and having someone next to me singing along with the songs very loudly. It might be great for them, but I'd rather hear the band play.
So, I'm sorry if he's offended and I hope he truly enjoys what he's doing.

I understand your point of view James and also because you have done that job! Doing that job at a certain point it becomes anoying ofcourse. I can understand that everytime you had installed the karaokemachines and you have to be happy about all those people to sing, even if it is good or bad sounding.

That Karaoke joke has been around for a while and I had always thought it was funny. It wasn't intended to insult the performer but rather to be just a fun little jab. If he is looking for serious feed back then... imho ... he should learn to support his tone a little better in the upper register. Opening the throat, flattening the tounge a little and increased air support from the diafram will help him reach that B flat in the Africa chorus easier. Bobby is tough to keep up with but I admire anyone who tries!

So it's ok again! You don't have to worry! Maybe it was more my mistake wanting to help him to get a reaction from any band member. You know that these reactions are things that could be said! But i thought.. Ohh well, let's try it! You never know! Leland Sklar also gave me his birthday wishes and i got in contact with Eric Valentine! So that why i thought maybe it's possible and i told Netcasty that! And he found it ok!

... I think he'd better ask us himself instead of doing so through you.

He's not a bad singer but it's also very hard to judge as he's singing along with Bobby and his voice is more on the background. Besides, you can't tell if someone has talent by Karaoke or games like that. They are just trying to sing like someone instead of singing like themselves, making it something of their own.

I think you've got a point there about singing along and that it's hard to hear his voice! And singing like somebody else enz.. that's true!
And of course it's hard to tell if some one's got talent by a karaoke machine, but a lot of people like Netcasty! You should take a look at youtube at his reactions!

Your right that he's is actually the one who should ask this to you, but i just wanted to help him get a reaction from bobby or so. Just anyone of the bandmembers, because i've read that that is what he dearly wanted so bad! Of course i told him that he could also make his own account here and join the totonetwork, but he's still thinking about being a totonetwork member and wanted me to post it for him! So i did!
