IKE cruised on past me with lightnin' speed---all we (Me and Midi) see out the window are outer-band cloud cover. We'll get rain today but that's it.

The area my folks did insurance work in (i.e. Baytown) took a whallop, no doubt. Dad's uncle and Aunt are headed BACK to Baytown three years after Rita. Pray for their safety as they scope houses and file claims. They're in harm's way---to minister to people. (He's a deacon....two of the finest God-Lovin' people I've ever met).

LONGBEACH took some over-wash (US 90 is not 100 yards from the water).

The breezes are still blowing my crepe myrtle around.
I would think Jorgi will get cloud-cover and rain from this in Jackson. NATCHEZ and VICKSBURG will take a little more---the further IKE comes inland. Here in Southern Miss, we dodged a bullet.

13 SEPTEMBER, 1979 'FREDERIC' ROARED above my head as I slept in my Dad's house---FHA type -no windows in the hallway. 13 SEPTEMBER is my Paternal Grandmom's 84th birthday-or woud have been, had she lived. She doesn't have to worry about sweeping up floors by Coleman Lantern today. Heh. I think of her today---and I miss her, but I'm glad she don't have to worry about another Hurricane on her birthday. WHEW Frederic left us without power for a week.

That's what TX folk are in for. IKE and FRED were same-category.
FRED was just smaller.
