Lighting up the Kicks!

Great shot.
Not only (IMHO) would mic'ing the USS Phillips be a pain (I wouldn't have a clue where to begin!) but getting the lights mounted so that the kit would still speak....

He's got a great tech working with him.
Am I correct to assume each kick lights up with each stroke played?

Having never seen it....I'm just guessing.
Those are clear Ambassadors right? (Maybe not!) BUT it lets the light show up --nice FX.

But to tell ya the truth of the matter----the lights woudl be the last thing I'd be watching. I'd be trying to follow his hands. YIKES.

Hmmm...well, I think that's just Andy Doig turning on the lights when Simon was doing these crazy fills with hands and kicks. They were not actually "lighted" on each stroke.
