I know that sounded harsh.
Every time I hear it I start to cry. It's like an on off valve. I'm driving through the mountains of Utah, absolutely beautiful and I start crying, I'm watching the FIB dvd and on my TV while I'm on the computer I start crying...Sitting on the 10 fwy in the morning and I start crying...well that's kind of different, 2 fold...

such a emotionally powerful song, it always puts a lump in my throat every time i hear it!

Girlie! I'm so with you on this song! It was sorta the household song almost 2 years ago during the time we were trying to get my in-laws out of Lebanon-it took two weeks, phone calls to the Embassy and a Marine who literally carried my Mother-in-law off the beaches and onto a ship to get them here. And now unrest rears it's ugly head once again-only this time they are here and it's almost time for them to go back....
But a big 'hell yeah' to this song and a good cab & cry....(well...maybe a pinot for me today.) It's cold and rainy and a bit somber here...so I'm gonna shuffle on over to my stereo and slide that disc on in....

It's just horrible what's going on...why are they going back? Is it a visa thing? Oh just make sure you skip that song...unless you need a good cry!

It's just their time to go
It's just their time to go back-vacay over...they do have the option to extend their ticket...not sure if they will though. They are really torn. They have a lot of family living in the middle of all the missile & gun fire. Part of them wants to go and see for themselves that everyone is okay and to protect their home. (When stuff like this happens people start looting...) And of course, the other part of them wants to stay put here.

There's not many people who
There's not many people who can write a great song that can really reach in a grab your heart. I'd love to be able to write a song that good one day. But these guys seem to do it all the time. It's amazing really.
Actually it's good to have a song that you know will bring out those emotions. Sometimes you need it.
I believe Dave did most of
I believe Dave did most of the lyrics and did the rest with Simon and a little help from Luke. But I could be wrong.
However it is a beautiful song, doesn't make me cry, at least, it didn't before but today I cry about almost everything so maybe I should listen to it again...... ;-)

I don't know but...
kind of watching and listening to the dvd, and I know there were a lot of people analyzing the dvd. Personally I'm loving it. It sounds great, I think the lights were to hot during the interviews but that doesn't mean that the interviews weren't great!
Don't forget..."You're only as good as your last record" just enjoy! and there is a lot of enjoyment here!!!!
