So, here are the 3 songs me and my friend Alex recorded for our school project. (It's actually 4 but the first half of the 3rd song Believe Me, Lord is actually taken from another song of ours). We recorded this between January and March of 2008 and basically spent every moment availaible in the school studio. We wanted to make songs with different styles (of course, styles that we could actually execute) and not same thing on every song. It was HARD work and a great experience to be in the studio and record and understand how much it takes to record, even if it is just one song doing the vocal tracks or whatever. Alex plays ALL the Guitar, Bass and is singing lead and I do the drums, percussion and some background "vocals" (if you wanna call it that)

Listen to the songs here: www.myspace.com/thehoovercraft

DADDY DON'T KNOW.
Our intention with this song is that we wanted to make a kind of Pearl Jam meets punk music type of song that was FUN. We wanted to make it dirty and trashy but instead, it came out rather "clean". Alex had the riff and I came up with the "chours" so to speak. Alex wrote the lyrics and it's about would it be if Jesus had a little brother. You can hear me "singing" in the "chorus". =P

MELLOW SONG [SAVIORS]
Just a regular ballad with a very cool guitarsolo at the end!

BEILEVE ME, LORD.
The first half of this song sounds like something Dream Theater would do. It's got many sections with an interesting instrumental section at the end. I wrote the lyrics to this one. Again, I'm in on the end with the vocals, shouting "Hey!"

Note that Alex is not a singer but personally, I thought he did a VERY good job!

Groovy!

Enjoyed all three, loved the guitars and drums throughout.
Daddy Don't Know by far and away is my favourite (wouldn't mind downloading if I could), loved the constant "flowing"(?) guitar riff and the funky bass -especially between 1:30 and 2:00 minute marks. Cool song.
Second favourite would be Saviours - loved the mellow flow.
Third favourite Believe Me Lord.
Let us know what your teacher thinks! Surely you'll top the class.
Thanks for posting Robin.
Cheers
