my fellow networkers as some of you know i have been studying art for almost a year now & i am going to be submiting a piece of work for a local art competition in a few weeks time (it's the first real art comp i have entered since school)
There is an initial selection of work (2nd june) to gain entry to the final,
i'm hoping my work can at least be chosen so i can start to gain some recognition (although i would'nt mind the £500 first prize haha!)
i will let you know how i get on nearer the time, below is a copy of my entry, hope you like it!

The shading in this is killer!!!!
That's pencil??

Hey, I don't remember posing for you......... ;-)
No, just kidding ofcourse. Great job, good luck!!!
By the way, can you explain why you used a brown frame? I think I would've chosen a white or grey one to stay in style with the drawing. I'm interested in your point of view!

to that Yvi it was the only one i could afford haha, a lot of other frames i looked at where quite expensive & many of them did'nt include the mount & this one did, i got told by my art tutor that just a plain frame is sufficient & not to go to any great expence, so i chose this one!
but i see your point!

Allright, that's clear, I could've thought of that myself.
Your art tutor is right, the plainer the frame the more attention the painting gets. My sister usually uses ordinary white frames, those are the cheapest out here.

I like it! :)) I have my fingers crossed for you! Good luck!

Ohhh thanks your too kind, i don't think i'm particurlarly talented though!
