Randy Brecker performed just before us at the festival. His wife is the reed player. Really great. On one of the earliest James Taylor tours....1971, I Believe......Randy, his brother Michael, and Barry Rodgers were our horn section. Hard to start out with the best horn section in the world. Where do you go from there? Kind of like Luke’s room here. Where do you go from there? Randy is a wonderful musician and I loved working with Michael on a number of projects over the years. He is dearly missed by all.

Luke so lucked out here in Dubai with a room that is larger than most peoples homes. Really a fabulous view of the area. I only think it is sad when you peak on the first room. Where do you go from here except DOWN!

Check out the vantage point we had from our dinner table tonight. It's an indoor-ski-slope with a restaurant just above the end of the run. You can actually see what we were watching during our meal in this site. Sorry I didn't bring my camera to this one, but I found a great site that has a picture from exactly where we sat. Check it out. http://www.skidxb.com/English/welcome_eng.htm?mid=1&sid=1 Our promoter told us that during Summer, it gets up to 120 degrees outside, but the skiers don't really mind. It was a fantastic night in Dubai, and we haven't even played yet.
Type: blogWhat an awesome place. It's like the resort you go to when you're tired of going to "regular resorts". I'm going to try to see as much of this city as possible. We have a shuttle at our service day and night, so there's no excuse not to check it out. I'm half tempted to take my computer along and get it on the mashcaster, but I don't want to have to pay attention to the laptop all night. If you get a chance, Google Dubai, and check out the "Palm Islands" and some of the other mega construction going on here. You'll be impressed at what they've done with this piece of the desert. It's amazing
