Hi Greg I have just watched a Herbie Hancock DVD called "Possibilities" and Im sure that you are in that, quite a few times actually, in the background and helping Herbie mix down a few tracks...although I couldnt read the credits, so please tell me you are definately sharing your talents with the great Herbie!!? Excellent DVD by the way, and some great new sounds for some magic old tunes! Regards Carrie :-)
I went to see Greg play last night at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. It was a show to honor Herbie Hancock It was probably one of the most insane, unreal shows I've ever seen. Superstar after superstar entered the stage and played a couple of tunes,.. On the last song the played, chameleon, they used 3 drummers, Vinnie Colaiuta, Harvey Mason and Teddy Campbell, Luis Conte on percussion. It was great to see Greg perform in a different setting. Just a small selection of people who played: Herbie Hancock, Sting, Joni Mitchell,Terance Blanchard,George Benson,George Duke, Jamie Foxx, Al Jarreau, Nancy Wilson,Vinnie Colaiuta, Nathan East, Paul Jackson Jr, John Patitucci,.... and the list goes on and on.
Hows this??? On Tuesday Im gonna go and get myself some tickets to see "An Evening with Herbie Hancock" playing at the Canberra Theatre on April 26....YEAH thats right finally a top class performer in Canberra...as you probably gathered we dont get many here in the political capital of Oz...probably cause Sydney is only two hours drive away, so we can always travel!! But yeehaaa Im going to really enjoy this one, Herbie has his quartet which will feature: Herbie of course on Keyboards the great Vinnie Colauita on Drums Mr Nathan East on Bass and Lionel Loueke on Guitar Has anyone seen Mr Hancock live before??? Im sure Im going to be in for a treat, and I will let you all know how it goes! :-)
