I want to send a big hug to his family and friends and tellya that you had the fortune of know him and share his beautiful life. His special work has been notice all over the world and was Unique. For me in the 1st place like a leyend! The 1st place like a friend, like a father, like brother...like a man! REST IN PEACE JEFF. GOD BLESS YOUR MEMORY! LOVE FROM ARGENTINE TO PORCARO FAMILY.
Hi friends and fans, seconds ago I added a pretty unknown tune of Janne Schaffer on youtube. Janne Schaffer is a swedish session guitarrist who worked with Phil Collins, ABBA and others. Back in 1978 he did a recording session with the whole Porcaro family! I added yome pics of Jeff to the awesome track "It´s never too late", which in my opinion is a prefect example of Jeffs groove.

I went to a TV- show recording last night, to see a friend perform in a lyric competition. One of the contestants chose Africa for his 80's song. The trick is to remember the lyrics that are taken out of a karaoke text. With a live band. He remembered the lyrics correctly,thankfully... Funny thing was, the drummer did a Jeff signature fill going into the chorus. That was so cool! I love doing those fills myself, but it's fun to hear other drummers that know what Jeff was all about. Just wanted to share the fun, haha. Peace out! Jan
There's a video clip on toto99 now, with Mike giving a few comments on Jeffrey. Really cool clip, and heart breaking too. When i think about how much we all miss Jeff, what's it like for his brother? Good seeing a clip with Mikey too, hope you're recovering good, Mikey, we miss you! There's a clip with Jeff doing a fast Mushanga- groove in there. Really cool stuff indeed. Check the clip here: http://toto99.com/jeff/tribute.shtml Jan
Hello, my friends! I was talking to a friend yesterday, he's a musician and producer, and he told me about this Sergio Mendes' song called "Lua Soberana".. I didn't know, but our very own Jeff Porcaro plays on it! I was so happy to find out about it, cause it was the theme of my fave soap opera of all times: 'Renascer', that was aired in 1993... I was 9 then, and I remember singing to this song!
Hey guys, this is the original pic... sorry about the quality, but it was scanned from the LP cover... The credits on the LP are: Paul McCartney: eletric harpsichord, vocal Steve Lukather: guitar, vocal Jeff Porcaro: drums Louis Johnson: bass Linda McCartney: keyboard, vocals Horns: Lawrence Williams, Thomas Pergerson, Charles Loper, Jerry Hey That's it... kisses from Brazil!! =***
I've just remembered about this LP I have, the soundtrack of Paul's movie "Give my regards to Broad Sreet", and I found this lovely pic with the boys... Jeff is the first on the left, and Luke is the third.. Jeff's shoes are different from the rest, hahaha!!! They look soo cute, don't they? =)
I'm sitting at my comp just surfin' around, and read a lot on the Network. Now "My Heart Wants to Know", from the Jeff Porcaro Tribute album came up. I really love this track. It's a beautiful melody, it's got a heartbreaking lyric, and it actually makes me shed a tear sometimes. Jeff had(and still have) such a big influence on my taste in music and playing, it's unbelievable. This track definately does Jeff justice. After the Trondheim show next saturday, I'll be having Jeff in my thoughts, 'cause after midnight it's august 5th, and 15 years since Jeff passed on. It's been FIFTEEN YEARS! Time flies, but Jeff is most definately still among us in our hearts and minds.
He has to put in a Toto CD everytime we are in the car. (Not that one is hard to find!) he then explains to me whether it is Jeff or Simon on the drums and what they are doing. This at 7 yrs old!
Hi 2 all, this is my 1st blog entry, I hope you enjoy it :-) Some days ago I uploaded the Boz Scaggs-Clip "Lowdown" on youtube (I am "funk76" there) , afaik it´s the 1st videotaped appearance of Jeff :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afBdFyE7PeE Yesterday I added Simons improvisation here:
...I know that Jean Michel Byron isn't the most popular guy in a place like this, but this song has a great groove!!..not to mention the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G solo by Luke!! Here's most of the song... Eirik
Here's attempt number 2 at an animated gif. I like this one a lot. Simple. To the point.
