Laboriel, Maxwell, Almario, Mathieson and Crouch!

Saturday July 7th, the last night of the Seaside Music & Mission Festival 2007. This is the biggest christian festival in the Northern Europe, and has previously hosted big names such as Stryper, Petra, Delirious?, O.C Supertones, Larry Norman, Rebecca St.James, Carola, Kevin Max (from dcTalk), ++ After a week filled with a lot of rainy weather, the atmosphere this evening was pretty amazing, the sun was finally shining, a few artists had already warmed up the audience... The festival is arranged on an island, and at the time of this concert, a total of 6-7000 people had found their way to see this gig! That's a record for this festival!

Hey JH, Here's a video from da fusion band: KOINONIA, which I'd mentioned in one of mmy messages... Koinonia has made several primarily instrumental recordings between 1982 and 1990, when the band disbanded.The name comes from Greek, and means "to fellowship" or "to communicate by the act of using as common". They are all Christian (studio) musicians that have been (and still are) playing with a lot of other top names, and they decided to name their wn "fellowship" group like that because of their common roots. Koinonia had their first live performance at the "Baked Potato" club in 1980, in Los Angeles. The "original" band consisted of...Abraham Laboriel on bass, Bill Maxwell on drums, Harlan Rogers on keyboards, Hadley Hockensmith and Dean Parks on guitar, John Phillips on woodwinds and Alex Acuna on percussion. At some stage Dean Parks left, and they replaced John Phillips with Justo Almario.

Upcoming gigs..

Hi everybody... I've been quite busy the last couple of months, and haven't been around as much as I used to. Anyway, the next couple of weeks/months are going to be exciting, because I'm going to see several interesting concerts! And every single band/artist I'm going to see, I haven't seen live before.. Upcoming weekend, I'm attending the Seaside Music & Mission Festival here in Norway (actually almost in my neighborhood). On Saturday evening I'm going to see Abraham Laboriel, Justo Almario, Bill Maxwell and Greg Mathieson, all known from the band Koinonia! First they're going to play for an hour, and then they're going to be the backup band for the gospel legend Andrae Crouch! What a night that will be!!
