It’s just past midnight in Germany, so already 5/28 here. You know, Dirk and you share the same bday date. We just opened a bottle of sparkling wine and send out a BIG toast to you! Have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Lee. We do wish you all the VERY BEST from the bottom of our hearts and hug you dearly.
Here’s the „Happy Birthday Boys“ together...
Love you, Julia

Not sure if everyone of you, who might be interested in this, has seen the announcement on toto99.com last week, so thought I could just bring this up here, too. "Steve Lukather and Bobby Kimball along with Leland Sklar and lots of other legendary rock musicians will participate in an exclusive event called "Rock Legends Adventure" where music enthusiastics can get up close and personal with their stars including four days of intensive rehearsals plus finale concert for large audience of fans. The event will take place from 21. - 25. May 2008 in Cologne/Germany.
Dear Lee, got the Billy Cobham "Spectrum" lately and enjoy and love it so much. May I ask you bout any special memories of the recording? And do you have any special memories of working with Tommy Bolin, him as a guitarist or as a person, too? Thank you so much! Love, Julia
Simon, Lee, and I went to see the Allison Krauss concert in Minneapolis tonight. What a fantastic sound they had, and great performance by everyone onstage. They totally "kill you softly" with their endearing music. Allison is an incredible stinger, and her band is top-notch. They were very cordial to us, and we had very good seats. It was great to witness such great talent onstage at such a low intensity. It almost makes you more excited when you hear it. The real kicker was when they finally left the stage after the two wonderful encores,.....the house mixer played "Hold The Line" as the crowd ambled out of the building.
Just wanted to thank you for everything. It was sure fun in Spokane, your Mom was rockin out...LOVED IT! You have a great family. Hope to meet up with you again soon. Pat
Here I was, just watching a taping of one of my favorite 'not-TOTO' songs and suddenly Lee showed up. Big suprise, didn't know that (but there's a lot I don't know) loving the song even more now (if possible)!
Hi guys, Hope you're all enjoying this brief break before heading out on the US tour. Good luck on that, - hope you can prove all those assholes wrong, but if not, then you're welcome over here in the UK, FOREVER MORE!!!! I'd like to thank both Greg and Si for answering my last question on live recording, - the explanation you gave was awesome. My final question also relates to recording, but this time relates to CD mastering and dynamic compression. I've been wanting to find this out for a couple of years now but have been too scared to ask in case it starts any arguments. So please don't take it the wrong way, - I'm merely curious and am in no way dissing anything! :-)
Hi guys, Hope you had an AWESOME time filming the show last night! I can't wait for the DVD to be released!!!........ Can I ask a technical question? Being obsessed with sound and recording, I'd love to know how you actually go about recording a live show. Are the instruments and vocals recorded directly through the soundboard, or is it all recorded through the ambience of the venue, or perhaps a bit of both? Also, how do you record the 'crowd' part without recording the 'music' part (which would otherwise create an echo-effect when mixed with the soundboard recording)? This is something that's always fascinated me!....
